First scaning tunneling microscope of model STM-MDT-1-90 was degigned in 1990 by MDT firm (at that time NT-MDT firm was so colled). For base the design of Ranov-Yaminscy microscope was taken, which in turn in main features repeated the design of Binnig and Rohrer. Programme and electronic control unit were of own develpment, at that control unit was prodused on base domestically produced componentry. Up to now this microscope duly operates in Institute of Cristallography RAS (laboratory of liquid crystals, head of lab. L.M. Blinov).
